Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

Headquartered in Boston, MA, Dana-Farber is world-renowned for their work in cancer treatment and research. Their recent expansion into Chestnut Hill provides patients with a new 140,000 square foot, state-of-the-art, facility that focuses on oncology services.

MMS worked with the design team to provide modular systems for supplemental cooling of medical equipment as well as heating and domestic hot water plants.

  • Penthouses included: (1) chiller, (5) filtrine systems, (2) CW pumps, (1) boiler, water heaters and mixing valves, (2) vacuum skids, VFD’s, as well as associated electrical and controls scope.
  • The customer knew they wanted to save valuable floor space within the building for patient care, so mechanical rooms were going to be housed outside. The team opted for modular mechanical rooms to avoid having to build penthouse structures on the roof.
  • These units were installed in September 2019 and the building was fully occupied in January 2021.
